Ivan joined Signs Ink in 2021, bringing a unique blend of visionary leadership and practical expertise. With a background in production and extensive knowledge of CNC technology, Ivan helps guide the direction of the business while ensuring the practicalities of execution are met.

A classically trained fine artist, Ivan began his career in visual effects for feature films and commercials. He transitioned from being an artist to developing software tools for 3D graphics, contributing to many award-winning films. Eventually, he moved into software engineering, working in games, film, VR, and other media. Over time, Ivan rediscovered his passion for creative work that bridged the gap between the digital and physical worlds, which led him to CNC technology and graphics. When the opportunity arose to take over the sign shop in Revelstoke, Ivan recognized it as the perfect fit, continuing the pioneering work of the Gillespies.

Outside of work, Ivan enjoys skiing, a passion sparked by his upbringing in a Colorado ski resort. He has traveled the world in search of adventure in mountain ranges and high valleys. Ivan is also dedicated to teaching complex concepts in computer graphics and geometry to the next generation of artists and engineers, helping to accelerate the development of tools and techniques in the field.
